2021 Diary

2021 – A quality year for market research

As 2021 comes to a close, the team at Face Facts Research have been looking back over the year and reflecting on our projects, award nominations and client wins.

The global pandemic continued to throw everything it could at businesses in 2021, and in the first part of the year our wonderful team continued to keep our market research cogs turning by working remotely and supporting clients with innovative project delivery converting to online methods for both qualitative and quantitative research.

Qualitative projects continued to make up over half of our business keeping our fieldwork team busy with recruitment, quality control and client liaison ensuring all clients projects were delivered successfully.

By spring we boosted our research capacity with excellent appointments – expanding our team and bringing expertise in-house to support new client projects and manage existing accounts. Bringing a wealth of experience in managing qualitative (Qual) and quantitative (Quant) fieldwork projects, appointing Julie Boreham and Amanda Baines supported our ambitious growth plans.

The Summer saw us achieve Recruiter Accreditation Scheme (RAS) in recognition of our knowledge, skills and competence in professional recruitment within the research environment. One of only twelve companies in the UK to receive the external accreditation, Face Facts was proud to add another accreditation to our growing list of accolades and the team enjoyed celebrating the accreditation.

Positive participant and client feedback continued to bolster the agency and team members proudly shared a plethora of positive reviews, with one client referring to us as the ‘dream team’.

Later in the year we made the shortlist for a prestigious Market Research Society (MRS) Operations Award, known within the sector as the ‘Oppies’ becoming a finalist in the ‘Best Data Collection – Online’ category for 2021 in recognition of our exceptional research process, online data collection and for delivering outstanding results.

Autumn time saw the agency continuing to pave the way towards becoming a leader in User Experience (UX) testing. Having expanded the research team, Face Facts secured a number of exciting UX testing projects with responsibility for the qualitative recruitment for projects across a range of sectors – including briefs from well-known high street brands.

With market research demands soaring the team expanded again, appointing Jaime Lamouri into the Account Management team and Rob Weston as a Senior Data Executive to complement the established Data Team.

As 2021 drew to a close, 5-star client reviews continued to pour in from projects demonstrating why our research capabilities outshine our competitors. Finally, the team was given a final boost by passing our ISO27001 annual audit with flying colours to secure re-accreditation and confirmed the agency’s ability to handle, manage and store data securely.

Looking back over the year, Joint Owners Julie Gaughan and Rachel Hoy agree that the agency has:

…“been living and breathing it’s strapline, having been kept busy ‘Getting Research Done’!!!

Adding: “The team is feeling positive about 2022 and the projects we have running and in the planning stages for next year. We continue to work hard and take great pride in going above and beyond for our clients.”
